This seminar is designed to inform school administrators, staff, and board members of their responsibilities for complying with these new health and safety inspections mandated under Jarod’s Law.

The information will be presented in three sections: What to do in “preparing” for an inspection? What to do “during” the actual inspection? What to do “following” the inspection? Plan to attend this half-day workshop to better prepare your district to correctly handle these new requirements.

Presenters will include three members of the rule writing committee for Jarod’s Law. Duane Stansbury, Health Commissioner, Warren County Combined Health District; Stephan Ruckman, Environmental Health Director, Delaware General Health District, and Matt Johnson, Program Manager, Cuyahoga County Board of Health.

To 8050 N. High St., Columbus, take I-270 to US 23 north (Delaware) on the far north side of Columbus. Continue north on US 23 to the fourth light. Turn right. OSBA is on the east side of the service road.

Registration

Tuition is $60 per person for OSBA member district representatives, which covers registration, materials and lunch. OSBA does not send confirmation of registration. "Walk-in" registrations are welcome on a space-available basis only.

To register, check with your school treasurer for a purchase order number, complete the registration form, enclose a purchase order or check payable to OSBA and mail to:

Cancellation and refund policy

  • Cancellations received by OSBA at least four workdays before the date of the workshop will receive a full refund or no charge to the district.
  • Cancellations received less than four workdays before will have one-third of the fee charged to the district.
  • No-shows and cancellations the day of the workshop will be charged the full registration amount.

LPDC/Award of Achievement credit:
This one-day seminar entitles board members to Award of Achievement credits. Local Professional Development committee certificates of attendance will be issued to all workshop attendees. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. Participants should discuss the outcomes of their experience with their LPDC.
