Director, Center for Student Services

The Educational Service Center of Franklin County invites qualified and interested professionals to apply for the position of Director, Center for Student Services. This person administers the service center‚s nationally recognized special education programs, promotes an effective learning environment, ensures program evaluation, and keeps the Deputy Superintendent informed about emerging issues. The Center contains a staff of approximately 120 certified/licensed, and 175 classified employees. In 2007-08, the ESC of Franklin County‚s Center for Student Services partnered with over 20 school districts to provide services for approximately 600 students in 75 classrooms in central Ohio. The majority of the classroom programs and services are focused among 17 school districts in Franklin County, supporting programs for students with various disabilities. Core responsibilities for the Director include effectively leading and managing Center staff, ensuring ongoing program evaluation, creating innovative programs, services, products and tools for building school district capacity in serving students w/ special needs, directing the delivery, review and continuous improvement of agency special education programs, establishes and maintains strong, collaborative working relationships with district special education staff, administers Center's budget and collection and dispersal procedures in accordance with board policies, and complies with state model policies and procedures for the education of students with disabilities. The Director of the Center for Student Services reports directly to the Deputy Superintendent and serves as an active member of the ESC of Franklin County's Superintendent's administrative cabinet.

Minimum qualifications are:
Valid Ohio administrative license or certificate appropriate for the assignment; master's degree in administration/school leadership or special education/pupil services; successful experience as an administrator of special education services in a K 12 school district or educational service center; meets all mandated health requirements (negative TB test result); documentation of clear criminal background checks; and complies with drug free workplace rules and board policies.

Compensation information:
$90,176 - $103,702 (eligibility for 5% performance bonus) The posting period for this position is March 21 May 31, 2008.
