No Board Member Left Behind
OSBA is working to keep its members informed on the massive federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
Signed into law on January 8, 2002, NCLB builds on the foundation of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act while retaining the prior legislation's basic framework of standards, assessments, and accountability. Designed to close the achievement gap between high- and low-performing students, NCLB makes significant changes in the way schools will go about educating students, particularly with regard to increased accountability for districts and schools.
