The Ohio School Boards Association is a private, not-for-profit statewide organization of public school boards. Founded in 1955, OSBA's purpose is to encourage and advance public education through local citizen responsibility. Truly member driven, OSBA's policies are determined by its members. Membership in OSBA is open to all public school boards.

Member School Districts

OSBA currently has 99.7% membership from Ohio public schools. There are seven types of school districts in Ohio:
  • City -190 districts
  • Educational Service Centers - 59 districts
  • Local - 373 districts
  • Municipal - 1 district
  • Joint High School - 0 districts
  • Exempted Village - 49 districts
  • Joint Vocational - 49 districts

Total - 721 districts
