HB 350 Wolpert STUDENT PRECINCT OFFICERS Permits a student at an Ohio institution of higher education to serve as a precinct election official in the county where they attend school and to permit up to two high school seniors to serve as precinct officers at a polling place with six or more precinct officers. HB 423 Setzer TEACHER WAGES Reivses the eligibility for state stipends to National Board certified teachers; permits school districts, esc's, and county MR/DD boards to pay minimum wage differentials above their salary schedules for certain teachers and specifies that teacher wage rate differentials, length of school year and length of school day are not subjects for collective bargaining. HB 424 Setzer SCHOOL PERFORMANCE Eliminates the performance index score as a factor in school district and building performance ratings, makes changes in the post-secondary enrollment options program and makes changes in the requirement that schools offer dual enrollment programs. HB 426 DeBose BUS DRIVERS Requires a person employed as a driver of a school bus or motor van to maintain control of pupils and provide an exception to political subdivision sovereign immunity if injury, death, or loss to person or property results from the failure of the driver of a school bus or motor van to maintain control of the pupils on that school bus or motor van.

HB 598 Huffman SCHOOL ACTIVITIES Prohibits a public school or an interscholastic athletic organization from sanctioning or controlling fund-raising and expenditures by head coaches or school booster clubs under specified conditions and to permit school booster clubs to pay compensation to coaches.

SB 220 Schuring JAIL TERMS/ELECTRONIC MONITORING Authorizes a court to impose an addiitional jail or prison term on an offender convicted of any one of certain prostitution, procuring, and soliciting offenses and a specification that the offense was committed in proximity to a school and authorize the offender in lieu of additional prison or jail time to wear a real-time processing, continual tracking electronic monitoring device.
